The Low Voltage Directive covers electrical equipment designed for use at rated voltages from 50 to 1,000 V AC or 75 to 1,500 V DC, subject to its exclusions and interactions with other legislation. It addresses health and safety risks. Products outside these voltage limits are not automatically exempt from safety requirements.
How we support this
We assess the applicable safety framework, review electrical safety evidence and supplier documentation, check warnings and instructions and coordinate any identified additional tests.
Do not automatically list LVD alongside every other directive. Machinery and radio equipment require careful assessment of the applicable legal route.
