The Machinery Directive addresses the safety of machinery within its scope. The assessment considers intended use and foreseeable misuse, hazards, protective measures, technical documentation and instructions. Complete and partly completed machinery follow different documentation routes. The transition to the Machinery Regulation must be checked against the relevant placing-on-the-market or putting-into-service date.
