The RED establishes requirements for radio equipment, including safety and health, electromagnetic compatibility and effective use of radio spectrum. Depending on the product, further requirements can apply. A Bluetooth or Wi-Fi module report is useful evidence, but the finished product and its integration still need assessment.
How we support this
We review radio functions, antennas, configuration and supplier evidence, clarify the testing scope and coordinate the technical documentation. Relevant cybersecurity obligations are considered as a separate workstream.
The RED safety requirements are not limited by the LVD voltage thresholds.
